Hello! My name is Denise Perry, and I am the
Choir Director
at
Brookings High School and the
Mickelson Middle School in Brookings, SD. I am
originally from Madison, SD. I was raised in a very musical
family, so music has been an important part of my life as long as I can
remember.
In 1988 I came to Brookings to attend South Dakota State University (hence the 'Blue and Gold' background!) After a few changes, I finally decided to major in Music Education. I graduated in 1993 with my degree. I taught elementary general music in Brookings for 13 years. I enjoyed working with the students and sharing my love of music with them. Now I am theBHS Choir director, and I direct the 4 girls groups at MMS, as well. I remember that choir was always the highlight of my school day, and hope students will look forward to our time together. My husband, Joel, and I have been married for 21 years. We have two busy boys - Justin and Micah - who keep us hopping. I am very thankful to live in Brookings, and look forward to many more years of making music here. |
